Calendar Album

Hello everyone! I haven’t made any posts for a long time. So I was thinking about what I should post. That’s when I came up with the idea of a Best out of waste photo album. This post is about a DIY item called the “Calendar Album” as I demonstrate how to make a photo album out of an old calendar. It is extremely fun to make and can be used as a scrapbook, photo album or even an art book. I have demonstrated all the steps with pictures.  At the end of this activity, you’ll find a recipe as your bonus entertainment.

Calendar Album – The Activity

For making this you will need:

  • An old desk calendar
  • News Paper
  • Pattern Paper
  • Coloured Paper
  • Foam Sheet
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Peral Stickers

Here are the steps:

Step-1: Cut the bottom most part of the calendar that forms a V-shape as shown below.

Step-2: Fold the calendar inside out as shown below. And chop of the rectangles at the open ends of the calendar, leaving the rectangular part attached with the spiral totally untouched. (The attached image is in gif format, so if the video doesn’t play, try opening the image by tapping on it. Also, I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience.)

Step-3: Use newspaper for the next step.

Step-4: Place the two sheets of paper under the thick sheets of the calendar, these will act as the cover of your album. Apply glue on the red area and fold it according to the directions of the arrows. Once folded, the paper should take place of the dotted lines

Step-5: Stick a sheet of coloured paper on the inside pats of the front and back cover of the album.

Step-6: Cover all the other pages with newspaper as well and then with coloured paper. (The following two pictures are in gif format as well.)

Step-7 Layflat the cover of the album and cover the purple and green parts with glue and stick them according to the arrow. DON’T COVER THE RED AREA WITH GLUE.

Step-8: Stick pattern paper on the front cover.

Step-9: Add some foam sheets and stickers as shown below.

The “Calendar Album” is ready. Now time for the bonus entertainment!
